The Institute of Market and Price (IMP), NDRC, is a comprehensive scientific research institution that covers a wide range of studies, including pricing situation, market regulation and competition policies, market system and pricing regulation. IMP is mainly responsible for studying the general pricing trend and pricing tendencies of commodities and key industries, the modern market system, the market supervision and regulation system, especially theories, policies and methods that are against monopoly and unfair competition, as well as the pricing formation mechanism of key industries and the pricing regulation on public utilities.
IMP now has 16 members of staff, among whom are two experts receiving the Special Government Allowance of the State Council, one national candidate of the New Century Talent Project, and four researchers. Researcher Zang Yueru (female) serves as the incumbent director and researcher Liu Quanhong the deputy director.
