Main research fields: dynamic tracking, analysis and forecast of and research on world economy, finance, trade and investment, analysis on the impact of the changes of the international economic environment on China and putting forward countermeasures and suggestions in a timely manner; study on China’s strategies and policies for opening to the outside world, development model for foreign trade, transformation and upgrading of processing trade, “Belt & Road” and production capacity cooperation among international communities, analysis on the new situation and new changes of making use of foreign investment and “go global”, and putting forward relevant policy suggestions; study on important issues including regional financial cooperation, RMB exchange rate and internationalization, liberalization of capital account and balance of international payment, etc., and provide reference basis for strengthening and improving macroeconomic regulation; study on establishing a new open economic system, mechanism for promoting economic globalization and regional economic integration and its function, as well as free trade zone and new rules for international economic & trade investments including bilateral agreement on investment, and make policy suggestions on China’s involvement in international and regional economic cooperation; study on making coordinated efforts to promoting opening up in China’s coastal, inland and border areas, making suggestions on forming a regional opening-up situation featuring complementing each other’s advantages, coordination and division of responsibilities as well as balanced and coordinated development; study on international economic governance mechanism reform as well as major countries’ policies on and standpoints and trends of climatic change, and providing relevant authorities with consultation services; study on major issues and hot topics concerning strategic polices of developed economies and emerging economies, establishing a new type of relations with other major countries, as well as impact of new policies of the United States and countermeasures, and providing references for relevant national authorities to making decisions.
